National Convention and Tradeshow 2020 cancelled due to public health concerns related to COVID-19

A statement from Alison Dantas, CEO of the Canadian Chiropractic Association

As the national association representing chiropractors, the CCA’s primary concern is the health of our members and their patients. After careful consideration and consultation with a variety of public health experts, we made the difficult decision to cancel the National Convention and Tradeshow 2020 due to take place in Halifax, Nova Scotia, May 1-3, 2020.

Chiropractors are primary contact health providers who deal with patients every day, including many with serious health conditions. As such, exposing our members, their patients and Canadian communities to any undue risk is unacceptable.

We did not undertake this decision lightly. We were excited and looking forward to another great convention. We are disappointed to have to cancel, and although it was a difficult decision, it is the correct one.

We have shared resources from the Public Health Agency of Canada and the World Health Organization with our members. We continue to update them to do our part to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our communities.

We now look forward to welcoming Canada’s chiropractors to our National Convention and Tradeshow 2022 in Toronto from April 29-May 1, 2020.
