MSK Leadership Playbook
MSK Toolkit
Time to act
The work landscape has irrevocably changed in the past few years. You are facing an array of unique forces – a highly competitive labour market, growing demands for health supports, workplace morale, return to premises / remote / hybrid work strategies, and a need to contain costs within ballooning operating and supply chain expenses.
While the underlying language around musculoskeletal health may be unfamiliar, leaders can implement a three-step tool: investigate, implement, improve.
Investigate
- Recognizing the scope of the problem in your workplace is the first step.
- Recognize the opportunities inherent with every systemic improvement.
- Consider bringing in outside consultants who are experts in the field of health and wellness promotion in the workplace, like a chiropractor.
Implement
- Approach leadership to outline proposed plan and get buy in.
- Establish a workplace MSK Health Committee
- Conduct a worksite ergonomic health audit or evaluation.
- Engage a workplace ergonomic expert, like a chiropractor, to review on-site and remote workspaces.
- Ask for feedback from employees.
Improve
- Analyze the effects of implementation and early indicators of success or adjustments.
- Create internal focus groups and solicit feedback from employee groups.
- Establish reporting structures so leadership remains informed of progress.
The white paper has templates, sample communications, and additional information.
